The 1000kV ultra-high voltage AC test and demonstration project from Jindongnan to Nanyang and Jingmen

  In this golden autumn season, the project is bountiful. As the first ultra-high voltage (UHV) project to start construction during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period in Henan Province—the 1000 kV Nanyang-Jingmen-Changsha UHV AC Line (referred to as: Nanjing-Changsha UHV Project)—is entering its final sprint phase and is scheduled to be operational by mid-October. This project is an important part of the main grid structure of UHV lines in Central China, and after completion, it will significantly enhance the power exchange capacity and the safety and stability level of the power grid in the region.

  01 Nanjing-Changsha UHV Project

  

  The Nanjing-Changsha UHV Project is a crucial component of the "Sun" shaped loop network in Central China. The Henan section of this project starts from the 1000 kV UHV Nanyang Station and ends at the border between Tanghe County and Zaoyang City (border between Henan and Hubei Provinces), with a total line length of 101.162 kilometers and the establishment of 204 new towers. After completion, it will create a highway for electricity among Henan, Hubei, and Hunan provinces, significantly enhancing the power exchange capacity between these regions and playing a significant role in improving the grid structure of Central China and promoting regional economic and social development.

  03 New Era, New Journey

  Partial images of UHV project sites show that so far, Far East's series of UHV cables have been successfully applied to more than 30 UHV transmission lines including the "Baihetan-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV DC Project", "Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800 kV UHV DC Project", "Weifang-Linyi-Zaozhuang-Heze-Shijiazhuang 1000 kV UHV AC Project", "Qinghai-Henan, Northern Shaanxi-Wuhan ±800 kV UHV DC Project", and "Yazhong-Jiangxi ±800 kV UHV DC Transmission Line Project". These projects cover 16 provinces including Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, and Xinjiang, achieving large-capacity, low-loss, high-security, efficient, and long-distance power transmission. In the future, Far East Cable will continue to actively deploy new power systems, strengthen product R&D and innovation, and deepen cooperation in various fields such as energy security supply, power grid infrastructure construction, power equipment industry development, socioeconomic green transformation, and achieving the "dual carbon" goals.
